When we travel, we almost always bring our miniature schnauzers with us…at least 1 of them per person.
Photo left: Kurious, Kaptain and Knosey with their winter hair cuts!
So, whenever we plan our travel, it’s choreographed around them!
* Tip: Always be sure to ask if the hotel you want to stay at allows dogs or is “dog friendly”.
We have recently been trying to plan our trips for this year, and we came across Branson, Missouri. I had no idea how many fabulous things there are to do there.
They’ve got: 3rd Annual Ice Carving, 2009 Polar Plunge, championship golf courses, lakes, museums, theme parks and 49 live entertainment theaters.
This sounds to me like a great Winter Escape Package!
There are 2 Hilton hotels that are within easy driving distance from all of the attractions. In fact, the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing is having it’s 2nd Anniversary this year too.
Now that we made sure there’s a lot to do in the area, then we start looking for great lodging.
Out of the 2 Hilton hotels there, the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel is pet friendly.
It looks so beautiful and is located in the heart of historic downtown Branson, Mizzou. The hotel is a 12-story glass tower…How cool is that?
The Convention Center hotel is located across from the Hilton Promenade and the new Branson Landing retail and entertainment district situated on Lake Taneycomo and just minutes from Table Rock Lake too.
Usually, whenever we’ve been to Missouri, it was for me to play Softball with Texas A&M University against their universities, and for my husband, he would have been competing in Track & Field at the same unis.
So, actually spending some time taking in the attractions will be fun and a change of pace from what we’re used to.
Visiting the lakes will probably be the best attraction of for us and our 3 dogs.
We are also hopeless “foodies”, so I’m sure we’ll be searching out some serious hometown favorites and gourmet fare alike. We’d be sure to take in a show of live theater, and maybe a few movies we would rent to hang out with the dogs in the room…LOL…
I’m sure we’ll enjoy a quick dip in the swimming pool and their work-out gym.
Chillin’ out in the winter…that’s what we need…
A week getaway with our babies…

Hi Kimberly
Your dogs are adorable. As a dog owner myself (retired racing greyhound), it’s very important to me to find hotels that are dog-friendly so I can take them with me. On my site, Perfect Escapes, we list some luxury hotels that are pet-friendly. Did you know that all Kimpton Hotels are pet-friendly? They have hotels nationwide – small, boutique, and your puppies will never want to leave.
Another one that is pet friendly is Loews Lake Las Vegas – bit off the Strip but your dogs will have the run of the land.
Happy doggie travels!
Randy
I’m glad you did a post like this, Love…
I know we love to bring our pooches with us wherever we go…They’re so important and special to us!
Motel 6s are pretty good when it comes to allowing dogs…

@ Kenney:
I know it! I miss them terribly when we have to leave them ANYWHERE!
They are a real part of our family – our children, if you will!
They’re a very integral part of how our family works!
Motel 6 usually accepts dogs, but you pay a small fee for them. That’s okay – it’s worth it!

Hi there, I’ve just been introduced to the world of blogging. We own a pet friendly holiday accommodation property – 4 self contained cottages on 55 acres close to Paws in Australia. Just playing around and trying to locate some relevant blogs and found yours – what a wonderful source of information for families with pets!
This website will definitely help you in protecting your pet ones while you are out for a lovely vacation
Just simply relax because your pet ones are safe and are cared properly…
there are many luxury hotels that are quite cheap and affordable these days
luxury hotels are always expensive but they offer some very attractive features and packages *”‘
Yes – they do…even luxury hotels will accommodate your pet’s needs.

…especially if you take advantage of discounts and off-season dates.

That’s fabulous! So glad to hear it.
I used to live in Perth, actually, and really miss Oz! Thank you for sharing your accommodation property – I’m sure it will be helpful for people traveling!
