Killing Animals Is NOT Art – Sign The Petition To Stop This Disgusting Atrocity!

by Kimberly Edwards on April 13, 2008

Terrier Newsflash:

This post is not specifically about terriers, but about dogs and animal welfare in general!

It saddens me and sickens me that a person can be so hateful and unfeeling about a dog’s life.

***

honduriananimalkillingforart.jpgArtist, Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, from Costa Rico in Central America, created an art exhibition in a Nicaraguan art gallery, where he hunted a street dog, tied it to the wall in the gallery and allowed it to die of hunger and thirst slowly for all to view…

Photo above: The corpse of the poor, starved dog that the artist, Guillermo Vargus Habacuc, murdered!

He explained that the cowardly act of sadism is art…Are you kidding me? No…

Now, he has been invited to participate in the 2008 prestigious Central American Biennial of Honduras…Are you kidding me? No…

What Can You Do?

Go to Sign the Petition that requests his invitation to this show be revoked!

Petition Against Artist, Guillermo Vargus Habacuc

***

In my opinion, THIS IS NOT ART…It is revolting, evil, disgusting and a terrible shame! Guillermo Vargas Habacuc should be punished in a comparable way for the pain, hurt and disregard for a creature’s life!

I hope you will take action in regards to this post on Terrier Lover! Until next time…

Love Your Terrier,

Kimberly Edwards :(

P.S. It’s up to you and me to take responsibility of making a stand for these helpless animals that have no voice!

My stumble friend, kelliannie, commented:

“Where was everyone while this was happening? No one thought to call the police… the police were too busy? This is horrible. Any one that watched and did nothing, participated and is equally guilty. Yup, equally. This man needs to experience his own art. Let him languish for water without an end insight. Have him work with dogs in prison to learn compassion. Then make it illegal for him to own, care for, or detain a dog or cat or rat, for the remainder of his life.”

I agree…the people who watched were equally as evil, and equally responsible for not standing up to do anything about it! Thank you, as usual, kelliannie!

My heart is breaking and as I wipe the tears from my eyes I feel I have to comment on this most abhorrent excuse for art I have ever had the misfortune to hear of. If you call this art, then we need a new word for art. What a shameful state of mans’ character, that we would call the sadistic murder of the innocent, art. Instead of enjoying art for the sake of beauty, inspiration and being uplifted, this contemptible murderer conjures up the basest repugnant impulses of evil, and calls it art. I’m sure satan will be waiting for him at the gates of hell. Myself, I will be giving my little dogs a special treat tonight, tell them that I love them, and hold them close. Does anyone know what other things we can do to make an effective objection that will help in putting a stop to the murders of this evil maniac?

Hi there. I had to sign and I am also going to spread that on my own blog. This evil should be severely punished.

Dude, I hate that guy…I hope he dies.
That is not &%#$*@ art!
It’s so sad.
I can’t believe people can just walk by and do nothing about it…They make me sick!

Wolf December 16, 2008 at 12:58 am

If I kill him and his family would I become an artist then?

PXG March 12, 2009 at 2:21 am

Well, I´dont agree. The art shouldn´t be like this, but it´s real!!!
That’s not an act of madness, but its cruel like reality. Even millions humans (and animals too)
are dying all around the world, there are people who die by war, starving and illness. Many countries as USA-England-Germany… made bigger the diference in economic development between first world and third world and nobody does any effort to change our devasted world.
If we don’t change we’ll dying soon… the problem goes beyond an inhuman artwork, really art reflects the glorious and viscious are mankind. We can punish this human but equally to bigger capitalist who support death in Africa, Middle East and South America.
jeje.. excuse me, I’m angry by the inhuman natura from mankind. This isn’t a real progress!!!

cr3ativity September 2, 2009 at 5:27 pm

I heard about this a long while ago. This is not art! It makes me so angry that this was even in a gallery! I just want to put all of the people who participated in a prison cell. I know art, I am a student artist. This is ****ing disgusting, violent, and inhumane! If he really wanted to make a point then he definitely made one – he is ****ed up in the head with his “creativity”! I understand that people die of war, malnutrition, etc all around the world. However, what on Earth does a dog have to do with this?! I would understand if the artist placed corpses of people who died of malnutrition or war. If this is what art will turn into by the mid-twenty first century then I’ll be the first artist to destroy this “creative” subject for good.

Hello Cr3ativity…

I think 99.99% of all people would agree with you – this just wasn’t fair, it wasn’t art – it was horrible, despicable and downright evil!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your heartfelt comment!

Heartless action – Guillermo must be an emotionally disturbed individual. As far as those who did nothing while this poor dog was in agony, are also sick people with no mind of their own.

Thank you for bringing attention to it.
