A 54-year old man in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada has been charged with for the merciless slaying of his mother’s 4-yr old Fox Terrier with a hammer. Officials are disgusted and shocked at this appalling crime that occurred on August 16th. Hamilton-Burlington ASPCA was called in to assist Hamilton Police.
The terrier died of multiple skull fractures and hemorrhaging, according to necropsy performed at the University of Guelph.
He could be charged with a maximum of 6 months in jail, a $2000 fine, and prohibited from owning an animal for a specified amount of time determined by the courts. These are the provisions for Section 446 of the “century-old animal cruelty laws” of the Criminal Code of Canada (causing unnecessary suffering and ultimately death to an animal).

*** What Can You Do To Beef Up Animal Cruelty Laws?
1. Contact your MPs in Canada and insist that they support Bill C-373!
Go to: Members of Parliament …and Email them Your Concerns!
I hope you are enraged enough to take action and contact your local MP. If we don’t, no one will…
I know our dogs live better than some children do…We need to help protect those who live in abuse and fear! It is simply not fair! Just don’t adopt any animals, if you don’t like them or are going to treat them badly!
Love Your Terrier,
